Hi Readers

Hope you've all been keeping well and things are good
Been a while, but have been busy with musical and other matters.

This is a short blog to update those who follow my endeavours.
As noticed I've put up a video page on the site, this is primarily to showcase the recent projects in ambient music that have been keeping me occupied.

I have been working on lots of short ambient pieces of music over the last couple of months, with a view to placing them in publishing houses. The single biggest problem with doing that is the time it takes to get done. Firstly the submission process can take ages, locating the target users and the time spent waiting for the acceptance or refusal notifications.

I therefore decided to forego that particular option with what to me seems a more practical and positive approach to getting my music out there.

The option I chose was to sequence several related pieces together to create a sound scape for relaxation and meditation styles of music. As a yoga student myself, I've always been attracted to the idea of producing something in that medium but never really got around to doing it. Prior to going down this road I took a listen to lots of these style of tapes and found that they seem to go on for hours.

I decided to keep mine in the sub 10 minute bracket for shorter relaxation sessions. I find these spans easier to work with due to time constraints.

Prior to recording I went out and recorded lots of wind and water sounds as these add a spot of depth and a natural feel to the music. I wanted the effect to be that the music floats out of the natural back ground.

Showcased thus far are three videos, one is something I did for one of my Blues songs from the Whose Blues! Mine? Album, the song is called Distant Sun. It was something I did earlier this year.

The Mirrormear:  video is the culmination of a massive remixing and editing process, the music was recorded nearly 8 years ago., But I never got around to actually splicing the tracks together in the way I envisioned them, when I first wrote and recorded the music. The pictures were taken by me at various times over the last few years.

The summer meditation is the first of the new meditation videos which I am currently putting together. The music on this one was all written over the last few months. I sequenced these three pieces together over one of my natural sound tracks and there you go. Almost instant meditation piece. Once again the pictures were all taken by me over the last couple of years.
I have more to come

Please feel free to have and listen and enjoy, any comments please feel free to let me know your thoughts

As ever wishing you all the best, and stay well

Mark
