Major Shape
The picture above shows the B Major chord.
As can be seen it is exactly the same as the A chord,
Here the entire shape is moved up two steps.
The open note E can be played or muted depending on the player.
The root notes B are found on the 2nd fret on the A string and at the 4th fret on the G string
The two remaining chord notes are found on the fourth fret
the F# on the D string and the D# on the B string.
Minor Shape
The picture above shows the B Minor chord.
As can be seen it is exactly the same as the A minor chord,
Here the entire shape is moved up two steps.
It differs from the B major by having the D# note on the B string 4th fret
dropped to the D on the B string 3rd fret.
All remaining notes are exactly the same.
The sound produced has a more haunting quality that
lacks the fuller crisper sound of the major shape
