Open Chords C Shapes
The picture above shows the open C Major chord.
Here the shape has changed from the previous two chords.
The open note on the Bass E string is often muted or has another
note added in it’s place.
The two root notes are on the A string at the 3rd fret
and on the B string at the 1st fret.
The chord note E is on the D string at the second Fret.
The final open note E on the 1 st string is usually played as
part of the chord shape.
The picture above shows the C Minor chord.
It differs from the C major by having the E note on the D string 2nd fret
dropped to the Eb note on the D string 1st fret.
All remaining notes are exactly the same.
The sound produced has a more haunting quality that
lacks the fuller crisper sound of the major shape
